Alexander Keith's Premium White

The first of four beers sent to me in a trade from from Nova Scotia, Canada. I asked him to send me Alexander Keith's IPA or Red Amber Ale since I have the glasses for those beers from when I was in Halifax in 2006. He sent me their "Premium White" instead, which is a macro witbier-like brew.

473ml can sent to me from a friend in Canada.

Appearance: Looks like a typical witbier: hazy orange body with thick, frothy, white head. Slow to evaporate, but no lacing.

Smell: slight orangepeel, tad bit of spice; otherwise odorless

taste: starts out tasting kind of like Hoegaarden but on the finish it’s like Coors Light. WTF? Where did this nasty grainy taste come from? The more I drink the more this tastes like water. Where did the orange and spice go? Garnishing this with orange would really help.

mouthfeel: thin, tepid, watery. Slightly sour aftertaste.

Drinkability: considering how thin and watery it feels and tastes it should be higher, but this is hard to drink because the palate sucks.

Overall: it’s a macro lager with orange coloring. Avoid.

Grade: 4/10
