Appearance: typical "beer" appearance, but better: gold with huge, frothy head; tons of bubbles; beautiful lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Not much here. Slight lemon zest plus generic lager yeast scent.
Taste: Initially I get light, crisp, citrusy hops, followed by generic macro pilsner finish. Short body. Very simple. Becomes much more bitter as it warms. Refreshing when very cold, though.
Mouthfeel: surprisingly thin for a 7% ABV beer. Crisp at first, but becomes tepid.
Drinkability: If drank cold you can pretty much slug this down. Perhaps I’m doing it a disservice by drinking it in October instead of a hot summer day.
Overall: I thought this was going to be better than it was. I supposed it was rushed to market and there wasn’t much time for R&D, which is understandable. I like the fact it doesn’t taste like a typical pilsner, but I dislike the fact that it doesn’t have a whole lot of originality to it.
