A lot of people really do not know how to pour a beer. I find most people pour entirely too gently or conservatively. In this video I'm going to show you a good method to use to generate a bigger head on your beer and knock out a lot of carbonation without the beer foaming over.
NOTE: This is NOT intended to be any kind of absolute "one size fits all" method for beer-pouring, but rather a general "rule of thumb." Different beers would be poured different ways based on their volatility. For example, you wouldn't pour a hefeweizen or a Belgian blonde the same way you'd pour an imperial stout or a barleywine. And even pouring those beers would vary based on the glassware into which they are poured.
Be sure to check out the "Extended Beer Nerd Discussion Version" of this video in which we compare different pouring methods as recommended by professional beer journalists.
