Melanie Martin, better known as "Mrs. Real Ale Guide" is one of the few female beer reviewers on YouTube. She's married to Simon Martin, better known as "Real Ale Guide". After seeing the success and experiences Simon has had as a BeerTuber, and as acting as his occasional camera operator, Mel decided to start her own YouTube channel http://youtube.com/MrsRealAleGuide to explore the world of beer on her own (with plenty of help from Simon, or course). Now she's beginning to develop a strong following there, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
In part 1 of this interview you'll get to her Mel's answers to these questions:
0:24 What was your reaction when Simon first started doing video beer reviews?
1:25 Did you ever specifically forbid Simon from doing beer reviews?
2:31 When were you ok with Simon's popularity on YouTube?
2:49 When did you become Simon's camera operator? When did you start reviewing beer on your own channel?
4:29 Were you apprehensive or enthusiastic when you first got online as a video beer reviewer?
5:30 Now that you've been online for a while are you comfortable? Do you understand the appeal of Beer Tubing?
6:40 How would you describe your biography as it pertains to beer and your discovery of real ale and craft beer?
In part 2 of this interview you'll get to her Mel's answers to these questions:
Are you still an amateur beer drinker?
What pleasant surprises and experiences have you had since you started beer reviewing?
How often do you shoot video beer reviews?
How have you liked the comments section?
Have you thought about bringing in one of your girlfriends as a guest reviewer?
Do you find yourself evangelizing for good beer now?
Do you have any specific or general goals you'd like to accomplish with "Mrs. Real Ale Guide"?
