Guess who’s hosting a beer dinner?

I’ve attended many beer dinners in recent years, but I’ve never played host… until now. On Tuesday, October 21st at 6pm I’ll be hosting a beer dinner at Uncle Marty’s Adirondack Grill in Averill Park. This place has always been an underrated destination by local beer geeks, which is surprising, because they have 26 beers on tap. Most of them are craft, and many are from New York State. They recently landed a new head chef, Dustin Aipperspach, who has given the menu a nice makeover. And what better way to show off his skills than by having a beer dinner (the first in a series, by the way).

Marty himself asked me to come up with a theme for the dinner and pick out the beers. The theme seemed obvious to me – all beers from the state of New York (hence the name “Taste of New York”). I’m not saying these are the absolute best beers New York has to offer, but they are all good ones that are accessible to drinkers of all experience levels. The breweries represented range in size from small startups to huge brewhouses with international distribution. I like these brews, and I’m sure those attending this dinner will too.
