   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 2/5   TASTE 4/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 10/20Chad9976 (1552) - Orlando, Florida, USA - FEB 27, 2016

AROMA: Medium strong dark malt. Slight coffee and/or chocolate scent. Noticeable sweet for a "dry" porter. Little to no hops. 8/12

APPEARANCE: Nearly opaque muddy brown. Small brown soapy head mostly dissipates. No lacing. 1/3

FLAVOR: Surprisingly mild compared to the nose. Some borderline sourness/tang up front. Sharp burnt toast or old coffee on the finish. Minor dry bitterness. No sweetness whatsoever. Some wet cardboard presence (oxidized). 8/20

MOUTHFEEL: Light/medium body; low carbonation. Slick texture. No alcohol warmth. Smooth but boring. 2/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: All signs point to old bottle, but no freshness date to verify. Probably decent fresh. 5/10

  1. I don't think I've tried that one quite yet, but I'm glad you suffered through it before I did. Good review! =)
