AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20Chad9976 (1566) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 27, 2016
2015 BJCP Category: 5D German Pils
AROMA: Slight skunky scent probably from the hops rather than lightstruck (brown bottle). Lightly sweet grainy aroma. Clean ferment. 9/12
APPEARANCE: Pale gold; hazy; CO2 visible. Small, white, foamy head. Decent retention and lacing. 2/3
FLAVOR: Light palette with mild grainy sweetness. Minor cracker character in aftertaste, a hint of lemon zest. Subtle spicy hops on finish. Tastes like a mild pilsner - not a weak generic lager. Nice. 13/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; not paper thin. Consistently crisp. Smooth and refreshing. 4/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Not the most authentic representation of the style, but pretty good for what it’s marketed as (and to whom). ABV is a bit high. Should be in cans. 7/10
TOTAL SCORE: 35/50
