Bell's Oatsmobile Ale

   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 5/5   OVERALL 15/20Chad9976 (1609) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - MAY 30, 2016

2015 BJCP Category: 18B American Pale Ale

AROMA: Tropical fruit juice with a little grass. Minor pale malt presence. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Golden hue; slightly cloudy body; visible CO2. Small, white, foamy head with decent lacing. 2/3

FLAVOR: Combination of tropical/citrus fruit flavor but genuine hop bitterness (but not to the extent of an IPA). Base malt provides backbone but not much distinctive flavor. Oats are subtle and virtually undetectable. Delectable and satisfying. 15/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; crisp; refreshing while in the mouth. Hops linger momentarily and eventually fade. Difficult NOT to quaff down. 5/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Borders on being a Session IPA, but a little less bitter. This would be ideal in cans. 8/10
