2015 BJCP Category: 21A American IPA

AROMA: Tropical fruit juice concentrate; grassy. No malt distinctiveness but otherwise quite nice. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Hazy shade of orange. Small white, soapy foam. 2/3

FLAVOR: Juicy flavor up front with spicy/grassy finish. Bitterness is strong, but not absurd; more dry than dank. Slight garlic or onion flavor in the aftertaste. Some grainy malt presence to offer balance, but not a sweet beer per se. Standard and solid IPA. 15/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body; slightly crisp with average CO2. Hops linger momentarily, but they fade eventually. No challenge to drink. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Though a good-tasting beer and a fine example of the IPA style, it doesn’t offer anything new or memorable. 7/10
