2015 BJCP Category: 18B American Pale Ale

AROMA: Huge tropical and citrus fruit aromas (pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit); slight candy aroma. No specialty malt notes or esters. Hint of grass. 11/12

APPEARANCE: Foggy amber/light orange. CO2 visible. Moderate, white, foam. Good lacing. 3/3

FLAVOR: Fairly strong hop flavor with a bright juicy taste (tropical, citrus). Bitterness is moderately high bordering on IPA territory. Malt is mostly for support; little in the way of distinctive flavor other than subtle honey/lemon character. Slight earthy taste on finish seems odd; otherwise fairly clean. 16/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body; crisp but not spastic. Smooth texture; easy drinkability. Refreshing while in the mouth. 5/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Borderline IPA, but really enjoyable modern APA that’s tasty and fun to drink. 9/10
