2015 BJCP Category: 30A Spice/Herb/Vegetable (base brew: 20B American Stout)

AROMA: Strong iced coffee; sweet dark and roasted malt. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Black proper; slightly violet highlights but otherwise murky. Small tan foam; little lacing. 2/3

FLAVOR: Lightly sweet malt combined with iced coffee flavor throughout first half. Rather intense roasted barley sensation on finish coupled with dry bitterness. Slight astringency or earthy character. Coffee is used properly as a background spice and accentuates the natural burnt flavor of roasted malt. 15/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body; smooth texture; low CO2. Slightly bitter aftertaste. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: A nice standard stout with coffee as a bonus flavor. 7/10
