JDub's Passion Wheat

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 14/20ChadPolenz (1634) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - JUL 4, 2016

2015 BJCP Category: 29A Fruit Beer (base brew: 18A Blonde Ale)

AROMA: Passionfruit and mango but little of anything else (some wheat). Seems authentic, not faux. 8/12

APPEARANCE: Amber/light orange. Hazy but no sediment nor CO2. Tiny white soap fizzles away quickly. 1/3

FLAVOR: Much like the nose, it’s all passionfruit and mango (in that order). Flavors are nice and slightly juicy. There’s a minty sensation on the finish. Minor wheat character in the background. No hops. Tasty but simple and repetitive. 15/20

MOUTHFEEL: Light bodied, but a little undercarbonated. Feels and drinks like juice - not crisp. Refreshing and crushable, though. Easily sessionable in the summer heat. 3/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: I like the taste and drinkability even if it is a simple, repetitive palette. Impressed the flavor has held so well considering age of can. 7/10
