2015 BJCP Category: 29A Fruit Beer (base style: 27 Historical Beer: Gose)

AROMA: Strong lacto/sour presence. Green apple, watermelon rind, but no coriander. Seabreeze aroma. Slightly yeasty/bready. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Pale golden-orange; very hazy. Fluffy white head slowly evaporates. No CO2 visible 2/3

FLAVOR: Moderately sour up front like a fresh squeeze of lemon in water. Salt lingers in background. Tartness on the finish. Some general spiciness in the background throughout (coriander?). No watermelon taste to be found other than a slight taste of rind rather than the fruit itself. 14/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; crisp and refreshing with a dry finish. Slight sourness lingers on the lips. Good summer beer. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: For a gose, this beer is pretty much to-spec. But it fails as a fruit beer (I suspect this can is old and the watermelon faded away). 7/10
