   AROMA 8/10   APPEARANCE 5/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 18/20
ChadPolenz (1702) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - OCT 29, 2016

2015 BJCP Category: 21A American IPA

AROMA: Fairly strong citrusy hops; slight candy scent. Low, clean grainy malt aroma in the background. No alcohol, No grass. 10/12

APPEARANCE: Bright copper/pale orange hue; high clarity. High CO2 and large white froth. 3/3

FLAVOR: Solid pale malt base with strong, dank hop presence throughout. Caramel/candy sweetness up front immediately followed by drank resiny/piney hop flavor at the finish. Slight oxidation due age of bottle (which might account for pronounced sweetness). 17/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body; medium-high CO2. Smooth, soft texture. Bitterness lingers into the aftertaste but without astringency. No alcohol presence. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: One of (if not THE) best mass-market IPAs. True to the style and highly enjoyable. 9/10

NOTE: I am a rank-pending BJCP judge. I am reviewing commercial beer to BJCP specs to hone my judging skills.
