2015 BJCP Category: C1A New World Cider

AROMA: Green and pink apples; some sourness/acidity. Sulfury. 8/12

APPEARANCE: Very pale white gold; very clear. White suds dissipate quickly. Effervescent when poured, but appears still after a minute or two. 2/3

FLAVOR: Sweet throughout, especially at the beginning. Not to the intensity of being juicy and certainly not cloying. Flavor is akin to tart green apple with red and pink apple background notes. Finishes with a dry, acidic, tartness. Seems to be well-balanced overall. 15/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body, but seems a little lighter than 6.7% ABV. Carbonation is somewhere between petillant and sparkling, though finish is always crisp. Cider is refreshing, but there’s a lingering sulfury sensation I could do without. 3/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: One of the most unique ciders I can recall. Tasty and drinkable, but not exactly perfect. 7/10

TOTAL SCORE: 35/50
