BBD: 6/4/2017

2015 BJCP Category: 29A Fruit Beer (base style: 21A American IPA)

AROMA: Lightly sweet tangerine peel scent. A clean, citrusy aroma with a touch of herbal character. Standard base malt presence. No alcohol. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Dark golden/pale copper hue; very clear. Moderate off-white frothy foam retains and laces extremely well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Medium hop flavor and bitterness. Hops provide for most of the citrus character, but tangerine peel emerges strongly on the finish for a brief candy-like taste and sweetness. Malt base is mostly nondescript; imparts balance and body. 16/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body and carbonation; smooth texture. Palette is well-balanced so as to be highly drinkable; slightly refreshing. Seems a little light for 6% ABV, but there is no alcohol presence whatsoever. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Works well as an IPA with bonus tangerine taste rather than a fruit-flavored IPA (as it should be). 8/10
