Březňák Svetle Výčepní

BBD: 04/2018

2015 BJCP Category: 3A Czech Pale Lager

AROMA: Fairly rich bready-malty sweetness with a subtle caramel or butterscotch note (possibly diacetyl and/or oxidation). Low spicy/peppery hops. No sulfur. 10/12

APPEARANCE: Clear, dark gold hue (5-7 SRM). Moderate white foam mostly dissipates but never completely evaporates. 3/3

FLAVOR: Sweet bready taste throughout. Graham cracker is a major flavor in the palette. There is a touch of caramel as well as some butterscotch (possibly diacetyl and/or oxidation, but in a low amount which is acceptable). Hops come through right as it finishes with a gentle dry bitterness and peppery taste. Balance is toward the malt, but is far from cloying. 18/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; medium-low carbonation. Smooth texture with a crisp, dry finish. Refreshing and quaffable. Amazing amount of flavor for only 4.1%. Highly sessionable. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Amazing how much flavor, depth, and character a lager this light can have! Probably a World Class example of the style. 10/10

TOTAL SCORE: 45/50
