Gravity Brewlabs Biscayne Gold

DOC: ?

2015 BJCP Category: 21A American IPA

AROMA: Prominent citrus aroma of pink grapefruit and sweet orange peel. Slight grassy character. No malt presence. 10/12

APPEARANCE: Pale orange hue (5-7 SRM); hazy body. Small white foam mostly dissipates. 2/3

FLAVOR: Mostly citrus fruit flavor throughout. Orange and grapefruit are moderately-strong, though I would not describe it as juicy. Lingering dry bitterness in the background akin to crushed vitamin powder becomes somewhat stronger on the finish. Slight grassy sensation as it finishes and lingers briefly into the aftertaste. No malt distinctiveness whatsoever, though palette does not come across as wildly off-balanced. 14/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body and carbonation. Refreshing and quaffable, but it feels thin. Also feels much lighter than 6.2% ABV. 3/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Though the palette is simple, the flavors are enjoyable and it has what is expected of the style. 7/10
