Central 28 Dancing Pierre

No freshness date

Judged to 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines for: 24B Belgian Pale Ale

AROMA: Strong Belgian yeast esters with notes of orange fruit, lemonpeel and bubblegum. Low pale malt aroma with slight honey character. Moderate spicy hop presence. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Hazy flame orange hue (9 SRM). Moderate white creamy foam retains and laces well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Spicy and fruity throughout with strong notes of orange, lemon zest and sweet bubblegum. Second half has a moderately-strong presence of spicy/peppery hops and phenols (the good kind). Base malt is rather subtle with little distinctive flavor other than a slight honey character. Bitterness is relatively low with a drying sensation; slight peppery aftertaste. Faint alcohol presence. Delectable, but a bit out of balance. 15/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; medium-high carbonation. Smooth, but crisp. Highly drinkable, refreshing, and temptingly sessionable at 5.9% ABV. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: An esterrific brew (which makes it so tasty), but not wholly authentic for the style. 8/10
