Coppertail Night Swim

Best before date: 6/8/18

Judged to 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines for: 20A American Porter

AROMA: Moderate dark malt aroma with a noticeable milk chocolate character and a subtle coffee note. Slight fruity character as well as earthy/floral hops. /12

APPEARANCE: Deep dark brown with slightly less-dark brown highlights (34-44 SRM). Moderate tan frothy head retains and laces well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Dark, clean, moderately sweet maltiness throughout (especially up front). There is a fruity component to the palette which meshes well with the malt. Milk chocolate emerges after the apex with a roasted malt/coffee taste as it finishes. Firm, dank bitterness and mild earthy/piney hop taste. Aftertaste is akin to baker's chocolate. No alcohol presence. Very well-balanced palette. 18/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body; medium-high carbonation. Smooth, soft texture. Can be sipped or quaffed. Feels a bit lighter and more sessionable than 6.2% ABV, though. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Pretty much a perfect American porter. That it's a Florida-brewed beer makes it even more impressive. 9/10
