Two Henrys Gilded Age Golden Lager

Fill date: 12/6/17

Judged to 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines for: 4A Munich Helles

AROMA: Moderate grainy sweet malt with slight honey character. Very low spicy hop presence. Seemingly clean lager fermentation. 9/12

APPEARANCE: Mostly clear golden hue (2-4 SRM). Small white foam never completely dissipates. 2/3

FLAVOR: Malt-forward palette with a fairly sweet grainy malt taste. Hops impart a mild bitterness and faint spicy/citrusy taste on the second half. Noticeable butterscotch component from diacetyl. Finish is lightly sweet, initially; but is otherwise quite clean. 12/20

MOUTHFEEL: Light body; medium carbonation. Crisp, refreshing and sessionable at 4.5% ABV. A bit light for the style, but the drinkability is nice. 3/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Cute beer. Easy to drink. Closer to style than not, but there's plenty of room for improvement. 6/10

TOTAL SCORE: 32/50
