Żywiec Beer (2018 re-review to BJCP specs)

Best before date: 05/04/2018

Judged to 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines for: 2A International Pale Lager

AROMA: Moderately low grainy malt presence; slightly sweet. No adjuncts. Very low earthy/spicy hops. Clean lager fermentation. Slight lightstrike character (bottle is only light brown). 9/12

APPEARANCE: Brilliantly clear shade of white gold (2-4 SRM). Large white foamy head retains well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Medium-high malt presence. Slightly sweet with a honey-on-cracker flavor. Low spicy hop flavor and bitterness at the apex. Finishes with a light malty aftertaste. Clean lager fermentation. 16/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; medium-high carbonation. Smooth, crisp and refreshing. Feels a bit lighter and more sessionable than 5.6% ABV. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: For an international pale lager, this is one of the better examples available on the global market. 8/10
