Judged to 2015 BJCP Style Guidelines for: 16B Oatmeal Stout

AROMA: Fairly strong roasted malt/black coffee aroma. Slightly nutty from oatmeal with implied sweetness. Subtle earthy/floral hops. No yeast esters, diacetyl, or alcohol (none needed). 10/12

APPEARANCE: Opaque black (44 SRM) with brown highlights. Moderately-large dark creamy head retains fairly well. 3/3

FLAVOR: Somewhat sweet at first with general dark malt flavors. Oatmeal is present in the form of a nutty/grainy flavor. Hop bitterness is medium with moderate earthy/piney flavor. Palette finishes with fairly strong roasted malt flavor and a bittersweet chocolate aftertaste. All flavors work well together. No yeast esters, diacetyl, or alcohol (none needed). 18/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body; moderate carbonation. Texture is creamy and smooth. Highly drinkable at 6.3% ABV. Ideal meal accompaniment or liquid dessert. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Pretty much to-spec in every aspect. Being delectable and highly drinkable is also quite nice. 9/10
